![Story from Jam Press (Throuple Christmas) Pictured: Alana, Kevin and Megan. Throuple told they are going 'straight to hell' reveal how they tackle 'awkward' Christmas dinners ? and who is the middle spoon A throuple who regularly get hate for their unusual relationship set-up have shared how they celebrate Christmas. Five years ago, Alana, 27 and Kevin, 33, decided it was time to make a drastic change to their relationship. The duo welcomed Megan, 37, after matching on the dating app 3Fun and officially becoming a trio. They now lovingly refer to themselves as ?Camp Throuple? online, where they have 180,000 followers. The throuple have no regrets about their dating lifestyle but it?s not been an easy ride, with judgemental trolls saying they are going ?straight to hell?. And while most people only have to battle with two sets of in-laws, they have three ? a situation they admit can be ?awkward? during Christmastime. ?As a throuple, we sometimes face challenges with family during the holidays,? Alana told What?s The Jam. ?There have been misunderstandings and awkward moments from those less familiar with our relationship. ?It?s definitely all eyes on us whenever we attend a festive event together. ?Whether people already know about our relationship or are just meeting us for the first time, you can often feel the tension in the room. ?The funny thing is, our Christmas doesn?t actually look as different as people think. ?There just happens to be three of us but we celebrate just like everyone else.? Thankfully, this Christmas, the trio ? who live in Colorado ? don?t need to make the dinner rounds, so are spared any tricky conversations. Alana said: ?Since we live in another state, we don?t spend the holidays with our families in person. ?We do video calls or send gifts instead, and plan visits at other times of the year. ?It just helps avoid any stress of splitting the time and lets us enjoy the holidays together.? The trio plan to spend Christmas Day going to the cinema and hanging out at home, wearing matching onesies. Kevin said: ?Alana loves decorating, so she sets the scene in the house. ?Megan is the cook and prepares whatever fantastic meal we have. ?We go to the movies in the morning and then spend the rest of the day together, snuggling, relaxing, having some hot cocoa, and, of course, watching football.? When it?s time for bed, the trio make sure to keep things fair. Kevin said: ?We rotate [who is the middle spoon] every night!? ?We use the MAK and cheese method to stay in order.? ?This simply means Megan, Alana and Kevin ? this is how we remember who is in the middle, just the order we rotate in.? ?One of us may let out a little snore here and there, but a quick nudge stops that.? Above all, Alana, Kevin and Megan want to normalise their relationship and help people embrace that Christmas is a holiday that should welcome all types of love. Megan said: ?The holidays don?t have to look a certain way to be meaningful ? what matters most is the love and intention behind how we spend them. ?Being able to forge new traditions together has been one of the most rewarding parts of our journey as a throuple.? Previously, Alana, Kevin and Megan have shared tidbits of their day-to-day lives including that they wait in line to kiss and sleep in the same bed. They also admit they are often asked if they want to add a fourth person to their trio ? and the answer is no. Kevin added: ?Most people on the internet say that we?re going straight to hell. ?But Santa Claus doesn?t discriminate.? Five years ago, Alana, 27 and Kevin, 33, decided it was time to make a drastic change to their relationship.
After being together for three years, Alana wanted to ‘explore her sexuality’, so they downloaded a dating app for couples in open relationships and met 37-year-old Megan.
It started as a fling between three open-minded individuals, but the threesome soon began to fall in lovet, and became an official throuple.
It took time to tell friends and family, but now, two-and-a-half years in, they’re happier than ever.
And, as Christmas approaches, the trio, who go by ‘Camp Throuple’ on Instagram, are looking forward to celebrating.
But it doesn’t come without its challenges, and Alana, Kevin and Megan all admit the festive period can be a little ‘awkward’.
‘As a throuple, we sometimes face challenges with family during the holidays,’ Alana said. ‘There have been misunderstandings and awkward moments from those less familiar with our relationship.’
In particular, they can get some double takes when out and about enjoying Christmas fun.
‘It’s definitely all eyes on us whenever we attend a festive event together.

‘Whether people already know about our relationship, or are just meeting us for the first time, you can often feel the tension in the room.
‘The funny thing is, our Christmas doesn’t actually look as different as people think. We celebrate just like everyone else.’
Since they live in a different state to their families, the throuple will spend this Christmas at home.
‘We’ll do video calls or send gifts instead, and plan visits at other times of the year,’ Alana said. ‘It just helps avoid any stress of splitting the time and lets us enjoy the holidays together.’

Kevin said: ‘Alana loves decorating, so she sets the scene in the house. Megan is the cook and prepares the fantastic meal we have.
‘We watch movies in the morning and then spend the rest of the day together, snuggling, relaxing, and having some hot cocoa.’
When all three are well fed and ready to crash into bed, they opt for a sleeping arrangement that’s fair for everyone.
‘We rotate [who is the middle spoon] every night,’ Kevin added. ‘We use the MAK and cheese method to stay in order.’
MAK is an acronym for Megan, Alana and Kevin, and allows them to keep track of which order they need to stick to.
‘One of us may let out a little snore here and there, but a quick nudge stops that,’ Kevin joked.
The three of them are often asked if they will ever add a fourth person into their relationship, but the answer is a firm no – they’re happy as they are.
Above all, Alana, Kevin and Megan want to normalise their relationship and show that Christmas is a holiday that should welcome all types of love.
Megan said: ‘The holidays don’t have to look a certain way to be meaningful – what matters most is the love and intention behind how we spend them.
‘Being able to forge new traditions together has been one of the most rewarding parts of our journey as a throuple.’
But that hasn’t stopped people from leaving hateful comments. ‘Most people on the internet say that we’re going straight to hell,’ Kevin explained.
Just a glance at the Camp Throuple Instagram page reveals commenters branding the trio ‘gross’ and ‘nasty’.
But Kevin joked that ‘Santa Claus doesn’t discriminate’, so that’s clearly all that matters.
